Spotlight on “FGI Presents Accelerating Your Brand: Media, Styling & Exposure”
Fashion Group International- Minneapolis/St. Paul (FGI-MSP) is no stranger to FWMN. With the past three years under their (ever-so-stylish) belt, the group brings us “FGI Presents Accelerating Your Brand: Media, Styling & Exposure.” This year’s event features a social cocktail hour with small bites, followed by a panel of professionals discussing the business of fashion.
Alison Kaplan, senior deputy editor for Mpls.St.Paul Magazine, will be moderating the panel, while the panel consists of industry experts. The panel includes Marion Parke, a shoe designer whose brand has grown exponentially and now manufactures her designs out of Italy. Other panel members include Doug Marshall, lifestyle expert, and Maya Clark, editor of Culture Piece Magazine.
Fashion Group International dates back to New York City in 1928, when then Editor in Chief of Vogue Edna Woolman Chase gathered 17 women to create a network of fashion professionals that could learn from one another and celebrate the business of fashion. Minnesota is the second chapter, created 81 years ago. Milana Tolins and Daune Stinson are the current FGI-MSP Regional Directors.
When asked what makes Accelerating Your Brand: Media, Styling & Exposure an important event for FWMN, Ms. Tolins puts it simply; “What we would like to bring to Fashion Week MN is an educational piece. We structure events in such a way that people come in and learn something and they can take it home with them and apply it to their business. This is the main purpose of our organization and our events.”
“FGI Presents: Accelerating Your Brand: Media, Styling & Exposure” is on Wednesday, April 25, at 6:00 p.m. at Bachelor Famer. Tickets are $30 for members, and $35 for non-members. Tickets will be available through Eventbrite.
