Joynoëlle’s 2017 collection, Fungi:Beauty from Decay, explores the world of mycology and nature’s transformative ability to create new life from decomposition, bridging fashion and art based on the colors and textures of molds, spores, lichen and mushrooms. Designer Joy Teiken’s concept emerged from her many hikes in the Otter Tail County woods near her cabin. The colors and textures on those journeys led to an obsession with the mycelium world. Thus taken, she dug deeper into the subject, creating passion, respect—and a new collection. For third year in a row, she will be donating the proceeds of the evenings festivities to www.killkancer.org in honor of her mother.
The evening begins with a social hour, followed by a runway presentation, and then cocktails and music by DJ Lori Barbero with models in a salon-style setting. Prior to the show, VIP ticket holders are invited into the theater for a private reception with spring hors d’oeuvres, runway seating, and gift bags. Beauty from Decay is part of Fashion Week MN presented by W Minneapolis” #FWMN. | joynoelle.com
