Fashion Week MN starts its season with an exciting lineup of shows, including the highly anticipated P R O X I M I T Y. This event showcases nine exceptional designers, including some first-time presenters, alongside a talented team of models and creative producers such as Mao Xiong, Sarah Kunh, and Gayle Smaller Jr. The model team is led by Paola Rincon, promising an unforgettable fashion experience for the audience. The original theme for Proximity is the thought of creating a space where there is no “class in fashion.” That local designers and high-end labels share space and can all grow together. Through conversations and exploration of many names, P R O X I M I T Y was settled on because it aligned with these two worlds not being so far away from one another, but actually, close - in proximity to each other.
The P R O X I M I T Y Team started by figuring out the concept first by conceptualizing the idea and then figuring out the best way to showcase each designer. It was important for them to have each designer choose their own models and that everyone has their voices included, not just the producers.

This season, Fashion Week MN had an incredible group of over 80 designers who applied to show, so P R O X I M I T Y aimed to use this opportunity to bring something new and fresh that aligned with their ideas around community and inclusivity. The producers noted, “This show brings all new designers to the runway! Our vision is unique in that it introduces new designers, new models, a new venue, and new producers - all aligning with the theme of our show.”
